We are in 2026.
With only a few months left before 2027, I still see professionals treating LinkedIn as a place to simply list their job title.
“Marketing Manager at ABC Consulting.”
But is that really enough to represent years of experience, skills, expertise, and results?
Compare that with:
“Growth-focused marketing leader with 12+ years of experience driving demand, building brands, generating leads, and turning marketing into measurable business growth.”
Same person.
Same experience.
Completely different impression.
Your LinkedIn profile should make it immediately clear:
What you specialise in
What you are known for
What problems you solve
What experience you bring
What results you have created
What perspective you have
That means your headline, keywords, experience, achievements, About section, and content all need to tell one consistent story.
Not a sales pitch.
Not exaggerated claims.
Just a clear representation of the professional you have actually become.
AI is changing how people discover information.
Google is no longer just a list of links. AI Overviews and AI Mode are changing how people search, research, and discover information. Google says AI Overviews now reach more than 2.5 billion monthly active users, while AI Mode has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users.
So increasingly, the question isn't only
“Will someone find my LinkedIn profile?”
It is:
“If someone—or an AI system—researches me, what will it understand me to be known for?”
That makes clarity, credibility, and consistency more important than ever.
It's about making your expertise recognizable.
Your work creates the substance.
Your achievements provide the proof.
Your content demonstrates how you think.
Your profile connects it all.
As William Arruda recently wrote in Forbes, personal branding can help professionals become recognized as leaders by deliberately building the reputation they want to be known for—rather than waiting for a leadership title to create that perception.
And that's the real shift.
Don't just tell people what your job is.
Show them what you bring.
Show them what you know.
Show them what you've achieved.
Show them what you're known for.
Because being experienced is one thing.
Being recognized for that experience is another.
And in 2026, if your professional presence doesn't communicate your value clearly, you may be leaving your reputation to chance.
2027 is almost here.
Is your profile ready for it?
